New build won't boot - not even the BIOS

Hello,

yesterday I assembled my new build (Specs below) but didn't get to testing it out, since it was getting really late already.

So today, after double-checking all cables and connections, I finally decided to boot it up - yey!
Excitement didn't hold out for long, since I can't get past the dreaded Q_Code "99" (means Super IO Initialization) and having the "boot_dvc_led" light up in orange. I checked and the VGA_led and DRAM_led both light up and go out again when booting. But when it's the boot_dvc_led's turn, it gives me the 1-long-4-short beeps and "99".

Any ideas? (already tried booting with only 1 RAM and un- and reconnecting almost all cables)

- Processor: i5 6600k
- Graphics Card: MSI GTX970 Gaming 4G
- DIMM: 2x HyperX Fury DDR4 8GB
- PSU: Corsair CX600
- SSD: HyperX Savage 240GB
- HDD: WD Black 2TB

if your mobo has a video connection, disconnect the 970 and try it with the mobo video out

Thanks for the reply.
Just tried it again without the 970, but I still get the same error, same LED lights up.

One thing I just realized though (dunno why I overlooked that until now) is that I apparently accidently bought a processor which had no cooling fan included - so I don't have a CPU-fan right now. Could that be the problem?

Absolutely! The motherboard won't boot without a cpu fan.
