New build won't boot

Hi, I'm a first time pc builder and just finished putting it together. When I turn it on, all the LEDs/fans start working, but no image displays on the monitor. I've tried unplugging the gpu, plugging the hdmi into both the motherboard and gpu port, and have already read the guide to issues like this, so the link won't help. I'm worried I've broken something.. please help

Welcome Cecatl877 to the love\hate relationship of building your own computer.

Have you tried plugging something else into the monitor through the HDMI port just to make sure nothing is wrong with the monitor? Also many motherboards come with a small speaker that you attach to the motherboard so that it can beep error codes at you, have you installed it if it is available?
