We're gonna need to see your full parts list to see if there are any incompatibilities. You say that the motherboard and fans all start up and you hear the post beep? Both the motherboard and cpu are LGA 775 and I don't think its a driver issue that's preventing you from at least getting into bios. What kind of video outs are on your 730?
i have a 500gb seagate barracuda 7200 rpm HDD,
(actual 2 but my other HDD has the original OS for my old pc incase this one is a dud and i need to revert)
ASUS P5G41C-M LX mini atx mobo
evga 80+ 430W psu
the q9550 cpu and fan,
nvidia gt 730 gpu with vga, hdmi, and and DVI outputs,
blackbone atx computer case
generic optical disk drive
8gb crucial ddr3 RAM (2x4gb set)
on side notes:
-the blackbone PC case has a unique set of connectors for its usb/power switch/audio front panel. Im fairly certain i got all the little connections rigged properly but i may be wrong.
- the psu has a 20+4 Pin main power connection. My mobo has a 20+4 pin power connection as well as a 4+4 plug set labelled CPU. since the mobo has a 20+4 eatx 12V socket AND a 4 pin 12v atx power plug (located right next to the cpu), I am led to believe that the 4 pin labelled CPU is meant to go into that power slot.
-The power light on the front of the case turns on but the drive activity light does not even flash and i can feel the HDD humming along while the power is on. The lights connections are apart of the odd set of connectors for the front panel.
Also important to mention is i don't really hear the post beep. I hear an odd clicking sound (probably the HDD spinning up in the hollow open metal case causing an echo.) and the sound of the fans all starting up. Otherwise it is rather void of life as far as the screen and any usb devices (aka my keyboard) are concerned, being that neither seem to respond at all.
