Hi

First time father& son PC builders here seeking troubleshooting advice. Setup include:
  • MSI Pano M100R PZ Case
  • Mag A650BN Power supply
  • MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI motherboard
  • AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Processor
  • AMD Radeon RX6600 Graphics Card
  • Crucial PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 1TB SSD
  • Beast DDR4 RAM 2x16 MB
  • BIOS confirmed as current version
We were successful getting PC running and installed Windows 11.

Downloaded a game and started playing. It crashed after maybe 15 minutes and the Epic installer started reinstalling from scratch which was odd.

On reboot the PC crashed with BSOD and error message “Inaccessible Boot Device”.

Windows repair and then reinstall did not resolve the issue.

On soft reboot the PC hangs with the EZ Debug CPU LED illuminated.

On hard reboot we return to the BSOD screen.

At command prompt we have run DISKPART>LIST DISK and PART>LIST VOL and CHKDSK on boot drive with no errors.

Based on the error msg there is a problem booting off the SSD.

Any thoughts what we should try next?

Update bios as the guy above said. It could also be that your nvme is just defective. I've been a tech for 17 years, scary thought, but have been tinkering with computers since being a kid in the late 90s. My experience has been that if your components run fine for the first 30 days or so that it's going to run for a good while. But on the other hand, if parts are defective, that they may tend to act that way.

Thanks for the suggestions to date

We realised that the SSD was installed into M2_2 (because M2_1 was concealed under a metal casing and we didn’t realise it was a SSD slot). We moved the SSD and reinstalled windows 11.

We disabled Fast Boot in the BIOS and turned off hibernation. The Fast startup option in windows was greyed out but we have confirmed that it is disabled with the powercfg /availablesleepstates command.

Our problem remains. The PC will boot fine off the Windows installation USB but we have not yet been able to boot it off the SSD. We get a BSOD and error message “Inaccessible Boot Device”.

We have looked at the boot sequence in the BIOS and have tried with M2_1 as the first and second (after USB) boot device.

Did you have multiple drives connected, while installing windows?
If you have multiple drives connected and bootloader already exists on the other drive (where you're not installing windows on),
then bootloader doesn't get created on new OS drive. OS drive doesn't get made bootable.
