[SOLVED] New build

Purpose is partly gaming with MS Flight Sim 2020 (coming later this year) and partly Photo and video editing. For photos, it would be large DSLR files. For videos 4K.

My proposed build is: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xNkRhg

Photo editing can drive a lot of threads while Flight sim can push the GPU a bit though they're saying ideal GPU spec is an RTX 2080 with Ryzen 7.

Ideally, I would like to run 3 monitors at 1440, but I just don't know if that's practical even with the 2080 Ti.

For monitor, Im getting an Acer Predator 27" Class UHD G-Sync X Model: XB273K I think the G-Sync feature is pretty important with this GPU.

I'm OK with the 2080 Ti being updated later this year. If the replacement is really compelling, then I'll get one and give the 2080 Ti to my son.

I was seriously considering the 3950x over the 3900x, but decided it wouldn't likely make that much difference for gaming, but I might be rethinking that for photo editing.

Comments welcome.

Solution
Thanks for the feedback. I'm a little bit skeptical of the alternative memories if I'm not overclocking. Is there really likely to be any difference there?

I wasn't aware that Microsoft actually has a viable anti-virus solution now. I've been totally in the Apple world for the past 10 years. I've had multiple Macs throughout that time and absolutely never had even a care about viruses. Now I'm jumping back into the PC world simply because Flight simulator is only on PC. But I must admit it's more fun to configure a PC than a Mac. But I suspect it will be far more frustrating keeping it running.
Even if you aren't overclocking, Ryzens love RAM speed. The 3000 series has guaranteed support to at least DDR4-3200MHz. After...
Changed some things. The Ryzens like faster RAM. The EVGA G5 isn't very good, especially for its price. The cooler you choose is OK, but for not a lot of extra money the BeQuiet is a lot better. Don't need the Anti-Virus as Windows Defender plus Malwarebytes is better.

When it comes time for the monitor look at a 3440x1440 monitor. The added width makes a huge difference in flight simulators.

This'll do better. There's not much use for the 3950x. Photo editing won't matter. Besides perhaps a handful of filters in photoshop. It won't use many cores. Video editing would matter.

Avira is a much better AV. Actually the MS one does quite well now.

First things first. You will need a lot more than just the PC for Flight Sim...
https://hangar.flights/guides/flight-simulator-student-pilots

Next, both your flight sim and editing will need all the cores you can offer. Besides, if you have a solid platform, it should last you longer too.
Remember, flight sim specially needs a fast PC, and Ryzen performs best with fast RAM. The sweet spot is 3600mhz CL16...

Also, if you are not in a hurry, there are tons of new hardware coming in the next couple of months, specially next gen. Intel processors...

This should be better...

Even if you aren't overclocking, Ryzens love RAM speed. The 3000 series has guaranteed support to at least DDR4-3200MHz. After that it is memory overclocking via the XMP profile and silicon lottery comes into play. However, I have never heard of someone not being able to run DDR4-3600MHz with a 3000 series on either a B450, X470, or X570 motherboard. Photo editing doesn't need a lot of CPU grunt but video editing can take everything you throw at it. Here are the minimum and recommended system requirements for Adobe Premier Pro 2020. Windows Defender is actually very good, is not resource heavy, and since it is included in the OS it doesn't offer a new attack vector.
