Hey All,

looking for some advice.

Looking to build a new computer from scratch.

I was looking to build a water cooled system.

I am looking to use a AMD and looking to install around 16-32GB RAM.

I am looking to get a case that is liquid filled.

my current system is around five years old so need to look at a upgrade.

Any suggestions or questions to help get me started would be great!

Thank you in advance!

The system would be used for online gaming, some day to day stuff, I do a lot of web design work, I am based in the UK, monitor is quite old so would be looking to replace this to get up to market. With regards to budget around 1-2k

A bit over budget but a decent build.

Extra fan for the back of the case.

I’ll be honest it quiet old and probably won’t work on a new motherboard but can check tomorrow?
Posted a build above if your playing really demanding games a 1080p monitor might be a better choice with the video card unless your willing to settle for a mix of mid and high settings. but I love a 1440p IPS monitor.

Toped out + your budget and added some RGB for looks. You should be able to get some money back by selling your PC.

EDIT if your looking for a full custom water cooled PC the case is fine but your going to have to up your budget by a good bit and then be willing to put the time into it for maintenance,

With the link provided it states that there is a warning

Warning! Some AMD B550 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vermeer CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.

is this correct?

Paying too much on items costing you performace. Also, gigabyte's rgb app will not control that ram's rgb. You will have to use software from Asus. I have that same kit, in my Gigabyte x570 itx board.

SSD raid is not particularly useful. A single PCI-E 4.0 drive will be faster, than dual 3.0 drives anyway. You also only had a single 970 and dual 860's. If you meant dual 860's, even then that isn't really beneficial. The cooler I would would mount on top.

Can that cooler control the other fan colours?

You would use gigabyte's RGB software to control all the fan colors.

Hi,

Looking for some advise regarding installation.

So I have purchased the BitFenix Nova Mesh SE ATX Mid Tower Case now on tha back of the case their is a board for the power to the fans and ther cable that I believe is to control the fan speed and colour.

So what I am unsure of is that I have the ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 240 A-RGB 48.8 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler coming and wondered would I connect this to the same board or would this get connected to the motherbaord?

Also from the board I have three connections labelled PWM/GDV and the other which is lead to be believed as the power which is plugged into three pins two pins on one siede and one pin on the other side of the connector.

The board that I have purchased is the Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2 ATX AM4 Motherboard so any advise on what should be connected to where would be great advise and on what connectors.

Thank you

Hello,

I seem to be still be facing problems with the connections.

I have a total of four fans connected to the control board on the BitFenix case.

I am having trouble connecting the three cables that come away from the control board.

Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2 ATX AM4 Motherboard

https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_b550-aorus-elite-ax-v2_e.pdf

If I understood correctly I have connected the PWM cable to the SYS_FAN1 port and I have connected the plug that connects to three pins one being apart to the other two on the D_LED1 port as for ther GDV cable I have no idea where this goes I have read that this connects to the 12 port but if this is correct then which pin as this holds four.

Please could you specifically advise where these get connected to the motherboard please?

Best regards
Simon
