Hello, this is my first time building a computer and was wondering what you guys think about the parts I chose. Any tips/tricks, improvements, and feedback would be appreciated.

Can I even buy those kind of kits in store? Or is it like a online only thing?

I don't think the fan will fit, since the link says it doesn't support socket 1155. You may want to replace those RAM modules because they're too high, might make installing a heatsink very difficult. G.Skill Ripjaws is great RAM. I'm not sure about the quality of the motherboard, but you can't go wrong with Asrock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3. And about that kit... No. The parts you listed here are very good for gaming ( or w/e you plan to do with it ) and you can get the i7 and 16g of RAM if you really need it, but if you game, it won't make any difference at all.

EDIT: I'm also not sure about that PSU...

What is the main purpose of your rig? What size monitor are you running?

Some things;
your Motherboard allows for SATA III with 6Gps. Maybe you could find a SSD that allows you to use that potential speed increase.

I am unsure but 1156 is the same socket as 1155. As for RAM, I am unsure what you mean by "too high", do you mean too big? Anyhow, tigerdirect.com doesn't seem to have G.Skills. Can you recommend any parts I could change to?

The main purpose of this rig is for gaming and my moniter is 23 inches and I plan to attach another monitor as well.
Are there any parts your iffy about?

May I ask how exactly did you find the RAM to high?

What he means i think about the ram is the heatsink on the memory is a little tall sitting in the Dimm slots. Tiger direct doesn't have much to offer i agree, i got most of my parts from there unless they don't have it. Also i reccomend you use Corsair Power Supplys. unless you prefer thermaltake. I'd also like to add if you like good driver's im not sure if your luck has been with AMD but ive been running NVIDIA fromt he start and havn't had any issues unless with "beta". If you would like i can provide some links to tiger directs substitute products.

Also your gonna need a OS: Preferably windows 7, i also notice you have not listed a Optical drive in these parts. I just used a simple 22X write master from Comp USA to install OS. Your actual storage drive ( Asuming its the Western Digital Green is a cheap drive but its not a good performer. If you were going to use that as either boot or storage i my self would get a Caviar black, better performance. The SSD you are using is well i have never used SSD's so i wouldnt know. Butlike the other guy said your gonna want to find a SSD thats going to utilize the whole performance of that SATA III 6gbs connection. Private Message me if you have any questions. Im doing a project on my Gaming rig me and my friend built. I'm always looking at upgrades. The economy is tight and its hard to find money to buy parts for your self but its always good to know when i can make some recomendations.
