New built pc not booting

Hi I just built my first PC and when I turned it on, all the fans started and the LEDs came on but no beeps sounded and nothing was displayed on the monitor. My specs are;
Asus m5a97 R2.0 motherboard
AMD fx 6300 processor
Single stick of 4gb corsair XMS3
AMD Radeon 6670 HD 2gb
Corsair CX500M PSU

At the beginning of the forum is a thread about how to troubleshoot a build

Unlikely to be a beep unless you have fitted a speaker to the motherboard
