New Built PC Windows 8.1 No connections available

Hey, I just freshly built a gaming PC. I got everything running an installed windows 8.1 and when I try to connect to the internet it says 'no connections available'. I have an Ethernet cable plugged into my Uverse Motorola NVG589 adapter into the back of my computer. I tried to troubleshoot and it told me i needed to install a driver for my network adapter or something?

Try going into device manager. (Right click start button > device manager) go to your network adapter whatever that may be. Right click and update drivers.

See if that works.

Silly mistake on me. I realized I hadn't finished installing everything off the motherboard disc. Woops my bad.
