New card ideas

I have a mobo that supports a single nvidia card but two amd cards. I was thinking about getting a single 780ti or a single r9 290x. But seeing that I have the option to crossfire. Why not get two amd cards. So is 2 r9 280xs just as if not more powerful than a song 780 ti or r9 290x. I am leaning sorta against the 290x cause they have no after market cooling. If anyone has and graphs or something. Please link it for e.

i would go with crossfire r9 290's without the "x" that would be very good if you're mobo doesnt support sli then i wouldn't go with 780ti because you cant sli in the future. the r9 290's is cheaper and you'll get the best performance.
