Hi
My case has seen better days, it's been with me since before uni and that was 13 years ago. I recently upgraded the PC and now it's time for case. Not much in terms or requirements other than these:

  • Good number of fan bays (the more the merrier)
  • Side fan over window
  • Needs to be able to accommodate XFX Speedster QICK 319 BLACK Radeon RX 7700 XT (33.5cm length) and My 5 drives which includes one 3.5-inch
  • Cooler for CPU is Thermalright Peerless Assassin, 157mm height

I was thinking of a Fractal Design Core 2300 but according to the website max GPU length is 380 mm (one or more 3.5" hard drives may interfere with side-mounted power connectors on graphics cards longer than 200 mm)

So I'm not sure if it'll work

Side fan over window
what do you mean, "over window"?
a side glass panel with a fan mounting option?

i haven't seen anything like that in years of building systems.
i used to see clear plastic panels with fan mounting holes drilled out available,
but usually that is only available with solid panel cases.

that is a pretty low airflow case.
for a system with dedicated GPU you should be looking for something with better air intake through the front.
the small side vent on that case will offer much less airflow than a good mesh front or similar.

2 of the best cases i've worked with recently are the
be quiet! Silent Base 802
and the Lian Li LanCool III.
there are many similar options available these days though.

include your complete system specs with the make & model of all components,
Motherboard:
CPU:
GPU:
PSU:
Drives(and their type of stored content):
etc...

Ryzen 7 5700 X3D +Thermalright SA
Asrock B550 Phantom gaming 4
AMD XFX Speedster QICK 319 BLACK Radeon
32GB ram
650W corsair psu

I would prefer a fan on the side of the case rather than window
What about Antec P20CE Solid ? No side fan but 3 x front, 3 x top, two bottom and one back. Se still a lot of fans and cheaper than the other two

so, you originally meant that you would prefer a side fan more than a window.
that makes more sense.

What about Antec P20CE Solid ?
it's a pretty nice case with good options.

since you don't include your drives make & models, you will need to ensure your drives will fit it's available tray(s).
or you could just get an external docking station.

with 3x front intake you'll definitely want to add at least 1x rear exhaust, maybe also 1x top-rear exhaust.
650W corsair psu
model?
Corsair makes a few garbage units.

the majority of the RX 7700 XT recommend a minimum of 750w.
you may need to adjust the power limit % quite a bit even if this is a better Corsair model.

RM650 seems to be running fine, that's the psu that was recommended here for this build, it doesn't feel hot after long gaming session.
I have 4 x 2.5 drives and one 3.5
I'll be transferring 4 of my current 120mm fans to the new case, might order one more for a full set.

you want more intake than exhaust.

the goal is to have the cooler outside air circulating around/through the components
and then the heated air exhausted.

if the cool air gets sucked out before it gets a chance to do it's job,
it's just extra fan noise being produced with no benefit from them being there.

i don't believe this case comes with an included fan hub,
so you'll also have to find out how many fan headers your motherboard has available.

there will be an image in the motherboard product manual showing all available headers.
