so im building a new computer and so far iv picked out these parts. the video card and power supply is already bought so i will not be needing those. link is here: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/32mh4 think this will be a good gaming rig? and also would you prefer windows 8 over windows 7?

Hi
I am sorry, but it is pretty unbalanced system.
-You don't need that much expensive motherboard. Cheaper one will serve you just fine
-You don't need more then 8GB of RAM for gaming.
-Better get 120GB SSD for OS, Applications, Games, and 1TB HDD for storage: Music, Movies, Pictures, Software.
-That PSU is pretty basic one, and for $1300 system is not appropriate one.
-Again for $1300 budget R9 270X is not appropriate GPU.

Here is some changes that i made, and it is less than $1300

I want to argue with you over the AMD GPU. AMD is for shooters. Nvidia for Assasin's creed like games.

well i told you my gpu and power supply i already own so im not sure why your telling me this. SSD are to expensive and not enough space so i think the HD i picked is just fine. as for the mother board i picked it so i can upgrade later on without worry. and more memory means less upgrading later on. i really dont see your points here

Check some thing on forums and youtube videos and think again about some things you want for your system.
Things to search for:
Is Antec Basiq good power supply for $1300 budget?
Is R9 270X better than GTX 770?
Is Intel Broadwell going to use Z87 chipset?
Is 16GB of RAM necessary for gaming?
Is it better to have SSD +HDD or just HDD?
Is 16GB of RAM supported by Windows 8 32bit?

Cheers

I will be using 64bit windows not 32. and i just bought the video card like 2 weeks ago, im not buying another one. and i can get double the memory for like 40 bucks more so who cares?
