Okay. I've been looking everywhere trying to figure this out. I just bought a new computer (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B011D79R34/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i6gsxbQ61MKES if you need the specs) and every time I'm connected to the internet for any period of time, or trying to download something, the internet will eventually stop on my new desktop, as well as everything else I have connected. This doesn't happen when it's just my other devices connected though.

The only way to fix it is turning off the modem and router and then plugging them back in. I would think the modem is the root of the problem, but it didn't happen before I got my new computer and it doesn't happen when it's not running either.

If you need more information I'd be happy to supply it. Thanks in advance.

I suggest you bypass the router and connect directly to the modem as a test. I f it works normally, then you probably need to replace the router.

I'll try that. Thanks for answering.

I think I might have figured out the problem. I think there was an ip conflict between my new computer and the router. What I did to fix this (if anyone is having the same problem) is change my ip address through my router. I'm not sure if it is going to stay working, but I've been using the computer hooked through the router for about an hour now after changing the ip address, and it is still connected with no loss of internet. For the last few days it's only been lasting about thirty minutes before it stopped. I'll give updates if anything changes.
