Hi all,

I just completed a new build as below
and I have run into trouble..

The computer refuses to install Windows 10 - it crashes after initally booting from the windows 10 USB and I get the "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart message".
It outputs different stopcodes every time..

I tried to reset to UEFI defaults in the BIOS, but I have had a couple of crashes even when in the BIOS..!

Any idea what could be causing the problem, and of course how I can fix it?

Many thanks for any advice!

Solution
The stupid thing about RAM is that the RAM must match both model and version in the compatibility list. RAMs can have the same model number with different revision and have different IC, e.g. Hynix vs Samsung.
Thanks for the super fast feedback!

I got the system to work by setting them at the lowest auto frequency..

Do you reckon I should change to a module which is on the list, or is it ok to leave like this..?

Many thanks

Your RAM is not in QVL memory compatibility list of your motherboard.
I think you may be wrong. I ran the CMK16GX4M2Z3200C16 kit shown in the QVL which could match the OP's RAM.

OP's RAM; Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200

From newegg.com; Model CMK16GX4M2Z3200C16

CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Desktop Memory for AMD Ryzen Model CMK16GX4M2Z3200C16

However there are other kits, ie Model CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 which also matches the basic description of the OPs RAM, but is a different voltage, so we need to know more about the OPs memory to ID it. BTW the proper voltage s/b 1.35 volts.

Forgive my obvious ignorance, but do i have to set the ram voltage on the bios manually?

And while I'm at it, is there anything else I should be twaeking in the bios?

I only touched the ram frequency - with devastating effects, so am shying away from it now...

Any advice?
Many thanks!

Yea for some reason I thought he has 32Gb as I was reading another thread where the user had 32Gb RAM.
We need to know the exact model number of the OP RAM.

Hi again

The online listing says it's these
Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 3200 MHz C16 XMP 2.0 High Performance Desktop Memory Kit, Black

does this the truck, or should I look for more detailed information?

many thanks!
Yea that's not in the RAM compatibility list but can you try and see if the issue persists with XMP off and default clocks at 2133?

Hi again,

I've been stepping up the XMP, but I've had the computer freeze a couple of times..

So now I've decided to buy other RAM and return this one..

If it's not too much to ask for, could you maybe have a quick look and confirm if these will do?

CMK16GX4M2Z3200C16 ver4.31 is listed on ASROCK's site,
and while the "main" product code is correct I haven't been able to confirm which version these are..

Many thanks!

I would buy one without a version number just to be safe.

So just to update.

Received & installed the new RAM, and everything works like a charm..!

The computer even wakes up from Sleep mode - which it didn't with the first RAM I had.

Lesson learned:
Never plainly trust pcpartpicker links when purchsasing RAM - just get the precise model from the Motherboard manufacturers QVL list..
