Hello everyone.I am new to this messageboard.I have recently decided that I am going to purchase a new computer and peice it together myself. From looking at all of the posts on this website,I am still unable to determine the exact parts that I need to buy.It seems that for every different computer part, there are hundreds and hundreds of different options. What I plan to do with this computer is to be able to play all of the high end computer games while at the same time, having a system that I will be able to easily upgrade in the future.Price is not really a factor to me but I don't want to be paying $4,000 for a new computer.I was wondering if I could be directed to a site that lists possible good computer setups or if I could just get a good setup from the users of this forum. Thank you very much in advance.

Hope this doesn't double post.I got an error the first time I tried to send it

Also,I forgot to mention that I noticed some people talking about the components that tom prefer's and I was trying to find these components on the site and was unable to.I am guessing the link is right infront of my face but I can't find it.Could someone please guide me in the right direction for that as well.Thank you for your time

We can suggest some possible setups, for you to look at, but first, three questions:

1. >$4000, but do you have an actual budget you are trying to stick to (and is it just for the tower, or do you need a monitor, speakers, keyboard, and such also)?
2. What will you plan on doing with the computer? Games, office tasks, video editing?
3. Can you order from US web sites? Or are you outside of the US.

After these things, we should be able to suggest some things that would work well, and some sites/places to get these things.

Well I am from Canada and am looking to spend $2,000 at the most.I do not need to buy a monitor.I have been looking around the net and this is what I have found so far

AMD Athlon64 3500+ Socket 939 Processor Approx $480 Can
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum Motherboard Approx $200 Can
1GB Corsair TwinX1024-3200XL Memory $466 Can

I was reading that the socket 939 is the way to go as opposed to the 754 or whatever it was since the 939 was the direction that the Athalon is taking in the future. If anyone can suggest a better setup that could save some money by all means let me know.

XFX GeForce FX 5900 XT / 128MB DDR / AGP 8X / VGA / DVI / TV Out / Video Card $280 Canadian

This is what I have so far.Not sure about the compatibility of this system. Feel free to share your comments. As I said in the previous post, I would like to have a computer that I can upgrade in the future. That is why I was leaning towards the newer Athalons but maybe I am wrong in doing this? Thanks for your help guys.
