Soon I want to replace my current CPU and Motherboard. I'm aware I'd have to reinstall windows, I don't need help with that. 😉
I'm currently doubting between two different CPU's and two different Motherboards.

AMD FX-8350 Black Edition
Combined with:
Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0

OR
Intel Core i5-4690K
Combined with:
ASRock Fatal1ty H87 Performance

I could also go for an Intel core-i7, however that would delay my purchase as it's an extra €100,-

Both setups are around ~€300 so that's alright. However I'm not sure which setup is ''better''.
And is the i5 good for gaming? Or should I save up a little more and see if I can get the i7 for so called ''future proofing''. I'd love some input.

Solution
You should combine the i5 4690k with a Z97 motherboard to have the ability to overclock. If you don't need overclocking then you can simply get a cheaper non-k i5 cpu.
The i5 is still enough for gaming for now.
