Hi. I want to get a new CPU and MOBO but dont know what to get im currently with AMD and i dont mind switching but intel is so much more expensive 🙁
Im currently looking at MSI A88X-G45 GAMING, FM2+, AMD A88X Chipset, ATX for the MOBO and AMD Vishera FX-8350, 4.00GHz, Octa Core, AM3+, Black Edition for the cpu is that good ?

My current specs are
Power Supply - Corsair Builder Series CX500 High Performance 80 plus
Processor - AMD FX-4100 3.6GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) 8MB Cache Quad-Core
Motherboard - MSI 970A-g46 970GX AM3+ SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0
Memory - Corsair Vengeance 12GB DDR3 1600Mhz High Performance RAM
HDD - 1TB Seagate 7200RPM
Graphics Card - MSI Twin Frozr GTX 660 2Gb 192bit DDR5 Overclocked card

Thank you

Or im Looking at the MSI 970 GAMING, AM3+, AMD 970 Chipset, ATX for a mobo one of those

Solution
I have the FX-8350, and it's a great CPU at a great price. It doesn't even bottleneck my GTX Titan Black! I have a 990FX chipset motherboard, but the 970 chipset is perfectly fine. I agree with xbizzaroz, just upgrade your CPU only.

As xbizzaroz mentions, that motherboard will not support the AMD FX-8350. That mobo is strictly for the A series processors like A4's, A6's, A8's and A10's. Keep your current mobo and upgrade to the FX-8350 if you're staying with AMD. Now, if you are considering switching to Intel, you could consider, with that video card, an Intel i3 or an i5 series processor and a motherboard with the 1150 socket. Yes, Intel is more expensive but if you're going to be gaming mostly, I would consider that route. I have AMD in my current system(PhenomII X4 955BE and Radeon HD 7870Ghz edition video card) but am going to buy and build an Intel-based system very soon. An Intel i3-4150 with appropriate 1150 socket mobo, with a GTX 760 2GB card and 8gb's of 1600 Mhz ram is what I'm looking at.
