Question New CPU, and motherboard

So I just bought the Intel G4900 Celeron cpu, so I could update my Asus strix z370-g Gamings bios.. I says on Asus' website that the cpu IS supported.. But when I put the cpu into my motherboard, the screen is just black.. Any advice?

Board is probably still on 0408 the original BIOS , so not compatible.

So if i want to use my I5 9600k, then i will need to buy an Core i3-8100 as it has update 0408, in order to update bios and then use my ''main processor''?

Most likely since the board is probably on original BIOS. Had one 2 weeks ago , same situation.

But when i look at the mobos bios updates there is update 0402 and 0419, no 0408? How's that?

If that's the right board it shows 0408 as the earliest BIOS.
