Hi everyone.
I am looking for a new cpu and motherboard but i'm not sure if i should go either intel or amd. I'm not sure if to wait for ryzen 5000 series or new intel cpu's.
Also, i already have a Noctua NH-L9i i was going to buy a i7 10700 ( locked cpu as i was hoping to keep the temps down without having to buy a new cooler too as that cooler suggests not to go over 65w )
Here are my current specs from my current build minus the cpu and motherboard. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/4YCm8J
As i don't have a working gaming pc at the moment, i was thinking of buying a b550 or x370 motherboard and a ryzen 3100 just for the time being as even that is an upgrade on my old specs, and wait for ryzen 5000 series or even wait for ryzen 3000 series to come down in price a bit.
My budget is £300 for cpu and motherboard but i can go higher if needed. i will only be playing games no editing or anything.

Thanks,
Ben

Negative. That's not going to go over well.

^10th gen power tables.
That 65w is only if all threads are locked to the base frequency, which is 2.90ghz.
With Turbo Boost involved, the loads can go up to 224w.

I'm unsure about the rest - I was just commenting on the cooling.

Thanks for all of your replies!
I have no problem with buying a new cooler i just wanted to try and use what i already had!
Probably best if i sold my 2400mhz ram and bought a new kit with a higher speed.
I was considering buying a ryzen 7 3700x or 5 3600x but was hoping for an amazon prime sale :/ i'm more than fine spending more than £300 just wanted to keep the prices down!
thanks once again for your responses, much appreciated .
