New CPU,computer restarts every 2 sec

i just bought a new CPU intel core i5 4690.I had a intel core i3.When i installed the new CPU the computer started to restart.Open for 2 sec and shutdowns and it keeps doing that.I took the new CPU out and installed the old one and it work.Why wont the new CPU work?

My motherboard is Gigabyte Z87-HD3 Lga 1550

Put your i3 back in, update the BIOS then put your ,4690 in the 87 series boards don't natively support devil's canyon chips they need a bios update
