New CPU not working

Today I got a new CPU (i7-6700) and motherboard (MSi H170A) and I removed the old CPU and board put the new ones in but when I boot all the fans spin up but there is a red light on the mobo next the word CPU I hope it isn't broken it was a 2 hour drive to microcenter with horrible traffic. Switched to stock cooler over my H100i works now
