So, I just bought a Ryzen 7 5800X as an upgrade from the Ryzen 5 2600x.

I tried updating bios, resetting cmos for 5min and nothing still works.

But when i reinstall my old cpu, everything works just fine.

Ryzen 7 5800X

Gigabyte rtx 3060

HyperX Kingston FURY 16 (2 x 8Gb)
PSU: dont remeber the name but its 600W

motherboard: Asus Prime A320M-K, i did check and it supports Ryzen 7 5800X (Vermeer)

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

If you reinstalled your 2600x and it boots and works, you did not update your bios.

You have to use your old CPU, update your bios to anything from 5862 and newer to support the 5800x, Use a flash drive and make sure its formatted in fat32 download the lates bios and put it on the flash drive, reboot into the bios and im not sure what Asus calls the bios update in the bios, and find your flash drive and the file and update, once it updates, you will find the system will no longer boot with the 2600x, the board no longer supports it, install your 5800x and it should boot just fine.

Good Luck!
