Hello, my friend is buying a new CPU so he offered me his 7500 for $75. I would have to get a new motherboard as my current one is 1155 socket. Would I notice a performance upgrade with changing this? My current one is about 5 years old or so and I notice most games take my CPU usage to ~80%, though I'm not sure why. I looked at the specs of both CPUs and they seem similar. What is the difference, and why is one better than the other, just so I know for future. Thanks for any help.

We have both of those exact CPUs in 2 similar computers - 3570k with a GTX 780, and the 7500 with a GTX 1060.

There is virtually zero difference in gaming, zero difference in everyday usability, etc. The 3570k holds its ground well. If you want a significant, worthwhile upgrade from yours, an i7 would be a step up; an i5 to an i5 (that isn't 6 cores) is just a sideways move for not much performance gain.
