[SOLVED] New DDR4 purchase

Hi,

I intend to purcahse a new Mb+cpu+ram. Most likely i5 10400f with b460m mortar and 2x8gb corsair vengeance rgb (scope: best performance and pieces for the budget+rgb/350€).

The DDR4 i want to be able to use even after a future upgrade of mb +cpu.

1. Hence what frequency would be recommendable (e.g. 3200 3600)
2. As the cpu/mb are ddr4 frequency capped below 3k mhz, what will happen memory wise? I understand that frequency will be capped, but what about the rest (e.g. is it latency automatically inmproving vs defualt figures related to 3200 or 3600 nominal frequency?) I MEAN, there is any drawback in buying a higher than accepted frequency by mb and cpu?

No
Latency will be the same, and because it's not as red-lined you might be able to even tune it a little lower, but the frequency will be capped at 2666mhz.
