Just like everyone else whos responded, newegg is the best. usually have the best prices and good shipping.
I've gotten most everything from them. You cant go wrong.

You NewEgg!!!!!! (over, and over, and over, and over....)

Over 30k spent in the last two years, no problems that they didn't resolve instantly and beyond my expectations!

Everything so far that I bought from newegg has worked.
No problems at all.Their shipping was a little slower than expected to my residence but their prices were great.I will never buy from a local retailer (high prices).

I have spent over $100,000 from New Egg. The prices and selection cant be beat, even from distributors like Ingram Micro, or Synnex. I have to agree about the horrible shipping from UPS. UPS really sucks.

Although I think the point has been made, I'll add another comment. I have bought all my parts exclusively from Newegg (except for the few months they were charging NYS sales tax) for the last several years, and I won't buy anywhere else. They are usually the cheapest but even if their a few dollars more I still buy from them due to the quality of service and speed of shipping.

I have bought my last 3 computers I have built for myself from Newegg, the 3 I built for my grandparents, my friends use it and I also will buy just random parts from there such as new fans or AS5.

Newegg is simply the best PC componet site ever. I even have the Newegg Prefered account with them.

I usually get the free 3 day UPS shipping (only takes 2 since I am in AZ and most every part ships from Cali) and never had a problem. I did get one GPU, a X800XT PE, DOA but the RMA was hassle free and I got my check for it in a week.

Simply put, if you are buying PC parts to build your own or to upgrade Newegg is the place to do it from. No other place comes close.

I want your budget

My wife used to manage party stores and seasonal costume shops over a 20 year lousy retail career (now she's into graphics). She always pronounces UPS "Oops".

The 4 bad things about being an egg:

1) You only get laid once.
2) The only person that sits on yer face is your mom
3) It takes 5 mins to get hard
4) You come in a box with 11 others.

The main reasons why NewEgg is so popular is because they give fair competitive prices and excellent service and is as hassle free as possible. Whomever started NewEgg obviously had the full intention of being a honest and friendly merchant and still sticks to those values.

Even if the price of the item you wish to purchase is slightly more costly on NewEgg you should atleast consider purchasing it as you are less likely to get a headache.

QFT.

Although, I've never had to RMA to Newegg so I cannot really say, closest was when a product was in and out of stock literally every couple of hours and had to confirm it actually was before I ordered it and the gentleman I spoke to was helpful.

TigerDirect was also pleasant to deal with when I returned an "unsatisfactory" case I bought in a bundle, and even let me just pay the difference between the new one and cheap feeling old one instead of losing the bundle savings, so I just paid $11 and shipping was refunded both ways. Thats something uncommon with most stores.

I should add the case was an Ultra Aluminus, it was the flimsiest case Ive ever seen(and Ive seen some really crappy cases) fortunately for me the holes on the motherboard tray were stripped like 5 or more were so I didnt have to live with the case or eat the cost and replace it myself.

New egg has many things going for them. Yes they have good prices and yes they are not difficult to work with on either returns or RMAs. The 1 thing that really sets them apart from others is their website. No other website is as detailed with setting criteria and narrowing down a search when looking for an item. I will use video cards as an example. Lets say you are looking for an ATI , 3870 chipset, with 512mb ram, GDDR4 only, and made by sapphire. You could even then select a price range and a few other things to narrow down your search. Then once you find the one you think you like you can see pictures of it form every angle. Nobody else does this!!

I am a systems builder. I wish I had that personal budget also, lol

I've occasionally bought things at Fry's (monitors, a couple of hard drives) but I'd rather just go there for movies, anime, DVD players, televisions and appliances. I really don't like Fry's graphics card prices, and their motherboard/CPU bundles, while inexpensive, often include less than stellar ECS boards whereas I've had better luck with a Gigabyte, ASUS and MSI in that order.

I love Frys. I just cannot stand to pay for something and wait 2-3 days to get it. When I am in the mood to upgrade or build, I want what I have paid for in my hand when I pay for it. If something is wrong, I will be in the return section talking with a live person getting my situation resolved right now. However, I know that a lot of people don't have a Frys in there neighborhood and web ordering is the only way.
Newegg is the way to go.

Those Frys bundles, if you just ask, you can usually upgrade to whatever motherboard you want and still get a pretty good deal. Just ask them.

Always check for combo deals, free shipping and mail rebates. The compare feature p'wns and the manufacturer links help you do your homework. Get on the 'Specials' email list for discount promo codes.

And learn to appreciate 'Eggcellent' as corn pone as it is - LOL

you are correct

Wooohooo1!!!! My memory rules. Its funny because I started to really get into building computers and stuff back in 1998/1999 and me and my grandfather wanted to go to Egghead, we knew where it was, but when we drove by it was gone and we found the article for its transition.

I guess the New part makes sense now too. They are a New version of the Egg.

Weird thing is when I order parts I swear I see a icon for a store..... wounder if they plan on opening stores or alreayd have.....

Zipzoomfly = googlegear. You only get one guess why their name changed.

Um Google said to? And you don't mess with the Google?

I love that Newegg has either combos/specials on the product page you are looking at with a link to evn more. Most products have about 20 combo specials that you can save a bit of cash on.

And Newegg is expanding even more. They now offer almost eevrything Best Buy does apart from appliances and a massive movie/DVD/music selection.

But it would be cool if they did expand to that, opened up stores. It would be like a Best Buy (only not gay) and Frys Electronics all rolled into one. I would go hang out just to look at the hardware.
