My Windows 10, macOS Sonoma 146.1 and HP DeskJet 2755e AIO Printer are all on the same network.
The Windows PC and printer are talking but the mac will not print. I had to add the printer using the printer's IP. The queue says it's printing but it does not print. The settings tell me the printer is asleep. I'm a newbie and would appreciate any help.

Also you might check hp’s site for drivers. Sometimes if Apple doesn’t have the drivers built in the OS the printers can act weird.

The other thing that comes to mind because we see this at work and I’ve just learned to be on the lookout for it. When you add the printer by IP, under the printing protocol, the default setting is IPP. I’ve found that it works much better if you change that to HP Jet Direct.

Hi! I'm going to try to resolve this issue. To ensure that your DeskJet 2755e is compatible with macOS Sonoma, first download the latest drivers from the HP website. To uninstall the printer, select it in System Preferences > Printers & Scanners on your Mac, and then click the minus sign. Then click the plus sign (+) to re-add the printer and let your Mac find it without using the IP address. Try restarting the printer and your Mac if the printer still shows up as sleeping. Alternatively, look for a firmware update on the HP website. After that, printing should resume. I wish you the best of luck!
