New first time custom build about $1500(need info as soon as possible)

Hey, im am building a new custom pc and it would be great to get some advice on the parts

BUDGET: around $1500

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: within a month

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: gaming, internet surfing, movies/TV, maye some video editing

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers

PARTS PREFERENCES: no preferences really, just like advice on what i have looked at already

OVERCLOCKING: not at the moment but maybe if i get a better cooler

also, would this be able to run games on higher settings such as FarCry2, COD6: MW2, GTA IV, Team Fortress 2, etc.

I had been planning on going i7 with my next build, but it was just leaked that Intel is planning on EOL-ing that socket next year. There's no word yet on when AM3 is going EOL, but at this point, I think it's safe to assume that it will at least be 2012, maybe 2013.

It would be great to know more about this and if its true, if so, suggestions about AMD and what mobo, etc. would be great
especially since there cheaper and then i might be able to get a better Graphics Card for eg. ATI HD5850 or 5870 instead

any suggestions about my build will be greatly appreciated

Yeah the Hard Drive upgrade is a good idea

The $212AUD one is the: M4A89TD-PRO-USB3 It has better CrossfireX (X16) but no onboard Graphics

The $189AUD one is the: M4A89GTD-PRO-USB3 It only has (X8) Crossfire but it has onboard graphics

But other than the graphics everything else is pretty much the same

You might actually want to go with the $212AUD board, as that 23 extra dollars worth of board will come in handy when you crossfire

Look at your original planned build and then look at your current planned build.
