Approximate Purchase Date: Before Next Month.
Budget Range: $1,000
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming (Vindictus Max Settings)
Parts Not Required: All Parts Required
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg, MicroCenter
Country of Origin: USA
Parts Preferences: Intel CPU, AMD GPU, Full Tower, 23" Monitor
Overclocking: Willing to give it a try if I have a good enough cooling system.
SLI or Crossfire: Possibly in the future.
Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080
Additional Comments: Would like to stay as cheap as possible with having good performance. Needs to be upgradeable for future use as well as have an adequate cooling system that will not cause any problems and quite if possible.

I was looking at this case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811517004

as well as the i5-2500k or the i7-2600k. I don't know if I would need the i7 or not, but I want to have max performance in Vindictus.

^ I dont think you would need a Full Tower case, there are a lot of Mid Tower cases which are very spacious and can even handle Dual-Card setup,...

As for the CPU, the i5 would suffice, it performs as good or better than the Intel i7 930 when it comes to gaming, so I doubt you would need the i7 2600K, also not to forget the high overclocking potential of that CPU,...

If you look at the System requirements of that game, it is pretty low, actually even the i3 2100 with say 6850 or maybe even the 6770 can max out that game @ 1080p,...

okay ChaCol here is what i think you could do with $1000

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500k @ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072&cm_re=intel_core_i5-2500k-_-19-115-072-_-Product
GPU: GTX 570 @ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133370
MOBO: Gigabyte Z68X @ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128500
PSU: Corsair TX-850 @ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139022
CASE: Raidmax Quantum @ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156241
RAM: Kingston Hyper X Blue 8gb 1600mhz kit @ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104173
DVD: Sony DVD @ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827118039
HDD: samsung Spinpoint F3 @ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185

Total: about $1005 before P/A and rebates

NOTES: PSU is not modular (meaning you can't take out the wires you don't need), but if you don't SLI or xfire, 850 is overkill for you. like gkay 09 said, IMO mid-tower should suffice. BTW do you need OS? because if you do, this is $100 ($30 if your a student) over budget, IMO you should use ubuntu until you can get windows

Since this is to be a gaming PC, you may not want a wireless keyboard or mouse, either of which can introduce latency and/or errors that will get you killed.
Based on GKay's observations of the requirements of Vindicus, using a HD6870 for the GPU will provide a step or two better than what you really need, so it could save you having to upgrade too quickly. A quality 500W-550W PSU would be sufficient for your build.
wenqi, he needs everything, including monitor, OS, and other peripherals.

crap, i'm about $500 over budget then... what about dropping the 570 to a 560ti/6950 and 4gb of ram, cheaper mobo? anyways, i would recommend z_4's build but with a samsung spinpoint F3 instead of a seagate, i think he can budget that in, does the OP want to SLI, cause if he does he will need at least 750w

Most likely ordering some parts from Microcenter since it's only 30 minutes away and a lot cheaper. So this will save me money on my build.

CPU: http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0354589
CASE: http://www.buyxg.com/store/cat.aspx?id=5&o=pa (Can't decide which one, but I'm looking at some of those ones that have a thermometer.)
MOBO: Here's two similar to the cheaper one on Newegg, any differences or are they all the same?
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0366193
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0364085
GPU: Not a fan of Nvidia so I was gonna go with this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161372

Now I think 750w psu would be suffice for me for now and the rest I'm not sure on. Definitely need the monitor, keyboard/mouse, speakers, and OS (possibly not).
