Hello,

I've just bought a new gaming system (see below) that should arrive next week, but I didn't factor in my current monitor. It's a Dell S2409W--that I've had for 6+ years--60Hz that my new system will utterly destroy so I think it's time for an upgrade.

The issue is that I'm rather lost when it comes to this as there are many options to choose from so I was hoping you guys could narrow my search and give me some good suggestions.

I'm mostly an RPG gamer (Witcher 3, AC Odyssey etc..) with the occasional bout of casual overwatch. My budget is £300 though I could be coerced to stretch for the right screen.

Both 144Hz and 1440p I'm sure isn't doable on my budget so would a 144Hz priority be the option? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm in the UK.

Thank you.

Well if you mostly play RPGs how important is image quality to you versus performance? You can always run a lower resolution on a higher resolution monitor or tone down settings in games you want FPS in.

With that budget you could get a 4K monitor. Plenty of 1080p 144hz monitors in that price range. And many IPS 1440p 60hz panels.

You kind of have to weigh those options yourself before it can be narrowed down further.

Couple of 21:9 1080p panels as well.
