I have built me a new Gaming Pc with a SSD and I am reading it is best to turn off Hibernate.
If I walk away from the computer the Screen goes to sleep, but my fans keep running.
What can I do to put my computer into a lower power state for the Fans and such, but don't put my SSD in hibernate?

I don't want to leave my PC on and the fans running all the time

Hibernate is the lowest power state windows can go into. If you turn off the PC fans the computer can overheat, melting your components, so that's not recommended. Fans use an extremely small amount of power anyway. If you would like to save power I would turn the PC off when you are not using it.

"I don't want to leave my PC on and the fans running all the time "

you pretty much just answered your own question with that statement. If you're not using it..turn it off.

Higher end motherboards can automatically change the fan levels to be higher/lower depending on the CPU load..my gene VII board for example does this. Either way..if you don't want it on..turn it off. An SSD boots up in a few seconds anyway..

I usually have programs open and I am in the middle of doing things. I walk away and the computer goes into hibernate if the few minutes I expected turn into hours. This saves wear and tear on the components of the computer.

Now that I have a SSD I read that it is best to either turn off or leave running and not to use hibernate.
I understand it boots fast. Or if I leave it running it consumes very little power and almost no wear on the SSD.
The thing I am trying to find out is that my computer seems to be up and running. My fans are still going. Not sure if my cpu fan is still going. I have a MSI ATX H97 GAMING 3 mother board and I cannot figure out how to make the case controlled fans go below 50%.
It just seems like their would be a lower power state I could put my computer in so things are not running. And still have good practices for my SSD

You can leave computers on for days on end..its really not going to affect anything in terms of wear and tear..heck I've left my computer on for days without issue. In my own experience I have SSD set to never shut off and my system still can go into hibernation/sleep state and it hasn't caused me any problems. If your computer is up and running, your CPU fan will be too. As I said with ASUS the fans just compensate for the CPU load and turn themselves down to a lower power state and if I start working again or playing a game..they speed back up.
