Hi Guys,
My Alienware M14xr1 died last week so,
I am building a gaming system this weekend. I have already contacted a local dealer who will provide me the components for my build.
Components:
Processor - Intel Core i7 6700K - (25250 INR ~ $377.77)
Motherboard - Asus Z170 pro Gaming - (14350 INR ~ $214.69)
SSD - Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB - (6400 INR ~ $95.75)
CPU Cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212x - (2900 INR ~ $43.39)
Ram - G.Skill RipJaw V 16 GB (2x8) - (5000 INR ~ $74.81)
Case - S340 NZXT (Red&Black) - (5250 INR + 5.5% VAT Extra = 5538.75 INR ~ $82.87)
PSU - Corsair RM650x 80 Plus Gold Fully Modular - (7950 INR ~ $118.94)
Total: 67388.75 INR ~ $1008.21
I will buy an Asus GTX 1070 later (after 2 months - My Pockets will become empty after I change my flat :ouch:. So need to wait for some time).
This is the minimum cost for the components I was able to find (Online cost is high in India).

Any input on this would be really appreciated :).

Edit: Ram Frequency - 2400Mhz

Solution
I couldn't really tell you anything to change, as it is probably some of the best components you can get.

Although, I would recommend adding a 1TB or 2TB HDD in there, for some extra storage space rather than just the SSD.

The i7 6700k and Z170 are a great pair as the Z170 will allow the 6700K to be overclocked. As well as the 212x, this will allow some good, quiet air cooling to allow overclocking to a reasonable standard additionally.

The RM650x is clearly a good PSU, although there are probably similar options, but still just as good, such as the EVGA Supernova 650 P2, which could be more or less on the pricing. Although I do believe the 650W PSU is a little overkill for this build, as you you probably only need a 550W, and that...

So yeah, other than adding a 1TB or 2TB HDD to me, there is nothing else to comment on.

Solution
An i7 6700k is very unnecessary, an i5 6600k will give you the same frame rates when gaming.(save the cash from the i7 so you can get a GTX 1070 sooner) That cpu cooler will not be enough to overclock a i5 6600k or i7 6700k, get a cheap cooler like the Cryorig H7.

I will surely buy an additional hard disk drive to store additional multimedia and other files later(Probably a WD blue 2 TB).
Yes, I will also check if any good 550W PSU available at the store (Probably go for RM550x if available and price margin is considerable). EVGA Supernova 650 P2 listed with 13266 INR on amazon india (very high comparable to RM650x), will check the same with the local dealer.

I wouldn't mind a little extra performance. I am a software developer and will be running multiple IDE and probably 1 or 2 VMs.
No. These are from a local dealer.
Compared to Amazon India the prices are better.

Finally assembled the desktop last weekend with the same (mentioned) configurations.
After starting the PC.
Experience:
Hour 1: Tried to install windows 7 but the drive was not showing up to install. At first thought the issue is with the SSD. So created a new partition on it using CMD (shift + 11) and executed bunch of others DiskPart commands.
But still nothing.
Hour 2: After searching a lot find out the issue is with the windows 7 USB stick (it will not show the drives even if connected to USB 2.0).
Hour 3: Google search + Bios changes. Also added my laptop hard disk (750 GB WD Black - SATA Port) to the PC and system was booting fine from it except a bunch of driver warnings.
Hour 4: After long Google search found a software to add USB 3.0 drivers to windows 7 USB stick.
Hour 5: Windows 7 successfully installed. System is up and running. No drivers. Downloaded LAN driver to another pc and try to share it using USB stick (SanDisk USB 3.0 Extreme 32 GB). USB stick not detectable even in USB 2.0 ports.
Hour 6: Google search.
Hour 7: After a long search found out there is only one way - install USB drivers. Run Ubuntu through live bootable USB and download the drivers.
Hour 8: Downloaded all the drivers using Ubuntu. Start installing chipset driver boom - Keyboard & mouse stopped working (LED for both was visible + NumLock key was working). Force shut down.
Hour 9: Gave up and started windows updates.
Hour 17: Shocked - Still checking for updates (LoL).
Hour 18: Found a fix for Windows updates (http://wu.krelay.de/en/) and started windows update.
Hour 19: Installed all the necessary drivers.
Hour 20: Finally system is running fine. Installed the Fallout 4 it was running fine on low settings 720P res (28-35 fps) same as my old GT 555m.

CPU: Temp - 55-62'c while playing Fallout 4 (Applied Profile - XMP in bios).

Next: I am thinking of buying a GPU. I will only be doing 1080P. Any below graphics card that will run game ultra to max for next 2 years.
1. Gigabyte G1 Gaming 1060 OC/GeForce® GTX 1060 GAMING X 6G (24500 INR ~ $364.57).
2. Sapphire Nitro+ rx480 (23500 INR ~ $349.69)
3. ASUS ROG Strix GeForce® GTX 1060 (28500 INR ~ 424.09)
3. GeForce® GTX 1070 G1 Gaming (37500 INR ~ $558.02) - Overkill
4. ASUS ROG Strix GeForce® GTX 1070 (31500 INR ~ $617.54) - Overkill

:ouch: But now have to wait for 3 months. For now I am playing Fallout 4 (modded using nexus) on iris Pro 530. Performance is same as my old GT 555M (M14xR1) except the VRAM which was 3 GB (Now goes max to 1.7 GB) so unable to use high resolution textures (No 4K using 2K only).
I have overclocked the iGPU clock from 1150 to 1300Mhz by changing the GPU Clock offset to 26 from 23. (Temp: 55 to 65'c)
For Testing only: Overclocked CPU clock to 4.5 GHz and ran AIDA64 test. Max temp was 85'c (Per 10 Sec) but as soon as it reaches there fan start to kick and temp comes back to 70's.
