Hi All, new to this forum Thanks Tom's, I am a novice in the hardware game. I am interested in it as my hobby. Anyway, I was interested in some opinions about a Gaming PC build project I want to try. First I only have Approx. $2000.00 budget. I have had "Intel" systems in the past so I really am looking to go RED...So my ? is given my budget should I try to put together an AMD system using current 3rd gen or do you think its affordable for me to wait for the 4000 series release and have fun trying that?
I am looking at Different MOBO's now and I am going with X570. well any thought would be appreciated thanks...

Hi All, new to this forum Thanks Tom's, I am a novice in the hardware game. I am interested in it as my hobby. Anyway, I was interested some opinions about a Gaming PC build project I want to try. First I only have Approx. $1500.00 budget. I have had "Intel" systems in the past so I really am looking to go RED...So my ? is given my budget should I try to put together an AMD system using current 3rd gen or do you think its affordable for me to wait for the 4000 series release and have fun trying that?

Right now I would wait until the Zen 3 Ryzen CPUs are released before making any decisions a new system. Another thing is you need to figure out what resolution and refresh rate you want to use for gaming. For example if you are fine gaming at 1080p 60fps that changes the build compared to 1440p 120fps. Also are you looking at doing AAA titles like Battlefield V or more E-Sports like Rocket League?

WOW , thanks just getting back into gaming as a hobby, so I will have to take these things into consideration. I am interested in the New RPG Balder's Gate III and Wastelands...

Sorry for the all Caps wont do it again. Thank you ,I value your suggestion, you actually suggested two of the same components I already posted;

I also chose that same Sabrent Rocket SSD and I also chose the Reddragon S101 keyboard and mouse combo$56.99 Newegg. The AOC Monitor got bad ratings and I would have to wait on the RTX 3080 GPU(Out of Stock) . Seeing as I am a novice I would prefer the X570 mobo and the full ATX tower for general "Roominess" and airflow, but I would defiantly consider your choice of CPU, Ram and if you don't mind what is your reasoning for the second Storage? As luck would have it , I already have the PSU, I got it from a friend as a Bday peasant.
Corsair 80 plus rated gold(or is it Platinum, I am not at home right now) 1200watt. I know its a little over kill but why get another...

One SSD for OS, the other for games storage. I have a friend with that same monitor, and he is loving it, hence why I haven't hesitated to recommend it. Now is not the greatest time to buy, with 4th gen Ryzen, Big Navi, and RTX 3070 coming. X570 only gives you more 4th gen PCI-E, for other PCI-E slots. Not really something that is going to affect a gaming rig. Games don't really take full advantage of PCI-E 3.0. B550 doesn't need the chipset fan, like x570 does. Also many of the newer B550 have faster rear I/O ports. I use an X570 myself, but I also bought mine the week of launch. If I were to buy today, it would be with a B550.
