Question New gaming monitor ?

Idk what 4k is but it doesn't show the resolution that i saw.
You want a 4k monitor but you don't know what 4k is? A 4k UHD monitor means that it has a 3840x2160 pixel resolution. So the Dell monitor has twice the resolution of the AOC one, so the price difference. It's something you should know before spending money on a monitor. Especially that 4k resolution requires a beefy computer (especially the graphics card). If you only have something like a RTX 4060 don't even think about a 4k monitor, would be a waste of money.

And although QD-OLED monitors have the best image quality, their have their flaws. I personally stay away from them because of the VRR flicker problem they all have (especially at 4k since it's more difficult to get a stable frame rate at this resolution). And if your computer is in a bright room you will likely have problems with black color distortion and reflections (both monitors you mentioned have a glossy screen finish, which is good in dark rooms but terrible if you have strong ambiant light).

Before buying a monitor, you need to look at detailed reviews like this one:

And make a choice according to your needs and setup capabilities.

Because the 4k monitor is what everyone keeps talking about and saying its good, as well as the OLED so that's what I wanted to get. I looked at that review and I found a YT video that explained some things. I don't even know if I want an OLED now because it is supposed to be good for gaming but it sounds like it's bad for text.

IDK there are too many choices now. It never used to be that hard to find a monitor. Right now this is my current monitor. I don't know how good it is compared to the newer stuff.

Your PC can handle gaming at 1440P or 4K just fine.

OLED's offer the best possible viewing experience but the screens are glossy and can be subject to glare. Some models are better than others.

I recently purchased the Alienware QD-OLED 34" widescreen and wish I would have done it sooner. Yes, OLED's are expensive.

I'm 57 and have been gaming since it's inception.

Seeing games on the OLED and HDR was like going from 22" 1080p to 27" IPS/VA years ago. A huge leap.
The 5070 Ti has 12GB of memory and can do 4k but will struggle in some game titles so a 5080 would be the better option at 4K. The 9070XT is an option for solid 2K performance.

Read up on what's out there. Go to stores and see the screens in person is always a good idea when possible.
