Hey Guys!

I am looking to purchase a new PC mainly used for gaming and maybe some music production.
I have a budget of £2000

Would prefer Intel if possible. But if you can think of any really good AMD set ups then go ahead. I will be building it so please could you recommend a system with specific components.

Solution
Since gaing is your first priority, Intel would serve you better. It should be able to handle music production too. This should serve you well for 1440p/144hz gaming at next level...

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700K 3.7GHz 6-Core Processor (£303.99 @ Amazon UK)
CPU Cooler: CRYORIG - R1 Ultimate 76.0 CFM CPU Cooler (£72.95 @ Overclockers.co.uk)
Motherboard: Asus - ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (£217.40 @ Alza)
Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory (£139.15 @ Amazon UK)
Storage: Samsung - 970 Evo 500GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive (£139.97 @ Ebuyer)...
On the assumption of 1080p gaming (you never said), and including a G-Sync monitor:

Recommend minimum of Ryzen 5 / i5, but Ryzen 7 / i7 preferred. Intel 8700 selected, but you could go to 8700k if you want. Not sure if Ryzen's multicore performance is particularly faster with music production. It will depend on software used.

16GB RAM minimum

1060 6GB ideal for 1080p gaming; if going to 1440p, 1070/1070ti/1080 more suitable (and will need to change monitor). Add another £300-£500 if you do, assuming G-Sync and/or IPS at 27".

Fast M.2 boot drive with fast 2.5" SSD for games / storage. No HDD noise.
Platinum PSU for more efficiency and less noise.
Case has lots of options and noise dampening panels.

Did not include after-market cooler or operating system, as have no idea of preferred CPU or platform as yet.
