Hi everyone, Merry Christmas!
I've been saving to build a new PC and, at the last minute, decided to put a quick build together to take advantage of some Boxing Day deals. The PC will mostly be used for gaming, movies, streaming, web surfing. Maybe CATIA (CAD) and MATLAB work at some point as well. I'll do some slight overclocking (nothing crazy) and have no plans to use SLI. Also, I'd like to be able to use this PC for 3-5 years without having to upgrade or build a new one (I generally don't upgrade and just do a new build every 3-5 years). Intel/Nvidia preferred.
Here's the build: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/bZZn3F
A few price Boxing Day price differences to note (MIRs included):
Video card: -$50.99
SSD: -$10.99
Memory: -$43.99
CPU: $-15.99
Motherboard: -$43
CPU cooler: +$10
PSU: Same
Case: -$30
Total: -$214.91
I already have a monitor, speakers, OS, keyboard, mouse, secondary HDD, etc. I also don't think I need an optical drive (can't remember the last time I used mine.
Looking to buy tomorrow as the Canada Computers in my area is having some great in store deals. I'm willing to use other vendors though. I've used Newegg and Amazon in the past. Any suggestions or concerns?
