recently i purchased and installed a new PSU (corsair mx750m) and GPU (xfx Radeon r9 280x).
I have been benchmarking and stress testing the setup with a graphic intensive game (shadow of modor) and found in Speccy that my Mobo and GPU were running pretty hot.

I know since the GPU is new that it will run hotter than my old one but it seems pretty bad to me in comparison.

Speccy is reporting that my Mobo in game is 60 °F and that my GPU is hitting 89 °F.

At idle speccy is reporting my Mobo at 52 °F and GPU at 57 °F. I don't think it's that bad at idle.

Is this normal for this new GPU and is it normal for a GPU when it runs hotter to effect the Mobo?
They must be related. Also I'm not sure if I got a faulty GPU maybe? what's a good way to see if the fans on the GPU are working properly and what is the best course of action to remedy this?

I looked up the GPU on some forums and found that it does run pretty hot, but I'm not sure if this is a normal temperature for it.

Maybe you guys can help.

Any thoughts or help is appreciated.

I agree with Krells,

The XFX exhausts a lot of heat into the case if you don't have good airflow everything will get a lot hotter. What case do you have and how many intake and exhaust fans?
You did install 8 standoffs in the case prior to fitting the motherboard ??
3 at top ,3 across the middle ,2 at the bottom - coinciding with the screw holes in your board??

Is youre 100% sure you did , try booting with the HDD disconnected - any difference??

Well last night I pulled everything out and found a standoff that didn't belong so I removed it. Now the PC boots with the Asus splash screen but I get a screen that says it identifies my keyboard and mouse and all my drives but still that the PC will shut down in 15 seconds.

I tried to load the bios setup by hitting del and f2 but it's not responding to input. I'm taking it to a repair shop this morning because I'm pretty freaked out that I've ruined it. Or the fix is beyond me. Thank you for the help though.

I did them separately good number of times each. I even tried reconfiguring the jumpers on my drives. My problem is no matter what I do it doesn't except any key input to get into my bios to reset to default or setup the boot order.
