I purchased a MSI Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 VENTUS 2X BLACK 8G OC and got a CPU from a friend and installed it. it is a b450m k the problem is i have worse performance now that i had with my old i5 and very outdated 980. I have upgraded to windows 11 cahnged power settings, clean uninstalled the drivers for gpu and a few other suggestions ive read on here and nothing has worked. here is the benchmark
https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/66812990

Run UB again, id like to see if you have addressed this step; thermal throttling, overheating/ poor heatsink mounting.
AM4, 1 CPU, 8 cores, 16 threads
Base clock 3.8 GHz, turbo 1.65 GHz (avg) <-- max turbo 1.65?

Also post screenshot of cpuz memory tab and each populated dimm slot from spd tab.

I don't suggest Userbenchmark or any aggregate system benchmarks for troubleshooting. The results are to vague and you are unable to target specific components adequately. In the case of UBM it is VERY BIASED against certain brands to the point where one should not trust the results. It has become a meme at this point it's so bad. Bench each component separately using separate CPU or GPU benchmarks (many free ones available, some included in the monitoring software I suggest) and monitor the performance, temperature and utilization with industry standard tools such as HWiNFO, GPU-Z or even MSI Afterburner.

Yeah, performance numbers are skewed but for a preliminary diagnosis, it's alright for that.

Cpu is running better than before (what did you do?) but something still isn't right preventing running faster.

Your ram according to UB are running at 2133, that will have a pretty big impact on performance. Probably due to mismatched ram or XMP not operating properly due to that. This why i wanted Cpuz screenshots to further investigate. You're probably gonna have to reduce your ram to two dimms of same capacity and speed for XMP to work properly.

sorry forgot that part

Forgot spd for each ram slot but yeah ram is only running at 2133. I suggest you try sort that out. Remove the 16GB stick, have the 2x 8GBs in A2 and B2 then enable XMP in bios. If XMP works should read 1600 under Cpuz memory frequency instead of 1063. 1063.5 or there abouts = 2133 DDR. 1600 = 3200 DDR.

Your uncore frequency is also running half the DRAM speed which is going to cause problems. I'm assuming this is related to having 3 DIMMs as there is no 3 DIMM configuration on those boards. Do as was suggested above and remove the 16GB stick and make sure the two 8GB are in the A2/B2 slots.

Okay you need to take it back out and put the 8GB sticks in the right slots as was suggest before. You're not only using an unsupported configuration but they're different DRAM types. It is never going to run right with that configuration period.

im back to the two 8GB sticks of ram in A2 / B2 Slots
. FPS still super low. keep getting a crash on game saying "out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering resource..."

This sounds like a configuration problem what game is it?

If the FPS is really low it could even be trying to run off the integrated graphics.

Sometimes it can be related to the windows virtual memory settings if there isn't enough room on the windows drive or the settings have been changed. You can check it in settings > about -> advanced system settings (on the right side) > settings (under the performance section) > advanced > change (under the virtual memory section) > automatically manage should be checked so long as you have enough space available

Ark Survival Ascended. i have integrated graphics disabled. i thought that was the issue too.

It honestly could just be ARK as that game is a pile, are you running any mods or anything? I've also seen people with significantly faster hardware than yours running the game what I'd consider to be poorly so maybe the settings are too high?

I'd suggest doing a run of userbenchmark again just to see how things line up to your prior runs. Also do a run of 3DMark and compare your results to other people with similar systems just to get an idea as to whether or not things are far off.

Also run Core Temp

Have Core Temp open next to Cpuz and run Cpuz bench (under cpu tab) for a few minutes and take a screenshot of both (while doing Cpuz bench).
