[SOLVED] New GPU for Birthday

Guys I need HELP.

My birthday is coming up soon, I have asked for a RTX 2070 Super. However it is a lot of money and I was wondering if I was better off waiting for the 3000 series to release to see if prices would drop OR to get a different graphics card? My budget is around £550. I am from the UK and amazon seems to be the best place to find graphics cards for the price.

ANY advice/tips would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,
Harry.

Solution
You are better off waiting for a 3000 series card, or at least waiting to see what happens to pricing. 3000 cards will likely be significantly faster than the current generation, and thus a better upgrade if within your budget. Also, depending on what they're priced at, a big jump in performance will definitely drop the value of 2000 series cards.

I have a 3700x and 16gb ram 3200mhz
that is a very powerful processor, in that case, I would indeed wait for the 3000s to come out even though a 2070 super is a pretty great fit your processor in my opinion (you could probably even put a more powerful GPU in without a bottleneck, but that's why you should wait for the gtx 3070 or whatever card Nvidia throws at consumers.)
