What would you need a 16 core CPU for? If you do, get a Ryzen 3950x for much lessIntel 16 Core i9 9960X Unlocked Skylake
Is this a good enough upgrade from the old CPU? and will it be better with the 2080ti?
Have £1000 budget either for cpu or new MB and cpu
You should have uninstalled the old graphics driver before taking 1080ti out, then installed 2080ti and then latest Nvidia driver. Try uninstalling your GPU driver using DDU and then install the latest Nvidia driver.Hi, I have just replaced my 1080ti with a rtx 2080ti. When I play FF14 online my frame rate is below 40fps. Anyone know how to get better fps?
i7 7800x

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game?CPU is 35-40 GPU is 60-70 both are water cooled
Will that help? already done a windows reinstall this morning and run DDU.
Whats your PSU?Could my CPU be the problem?
Whats your PSU?
If your FPS is lower than the 1080ti then its not the CPU.
Check and ensure you installed the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard, sound, lan, etc....for your motherboard. That can be a factor.

For just gaming, they are all beat by a 9900k , but you can get the lowest model 8-10 core for whatever generation and it will be fine. 9800x or 10900x.Ok so what 2066 socket Intel will do the job for me?
That will work great, just ensure the motherboard bios is up to date.Had a look how about this Intel Octa Core i7 9800X ?
