[SOLVED] New GPU - No Display

So I have a backup gaming / family use PC.

All new parts, except used an old 7950 till I could get a new GPU. This PC is an all purpose family PC and backup gaming rig for me.

Ryzen 5600x
Gigabyte B550i Aorus Pro AX
Team Tforce Vulcan 2 x 16 - 3200
EVGA SuperNOVA 650 GM
Sabrent 500 GB Rocket NVME PCIe M.2 2280
Phanteks Evolv Shift 2 Air Mini Itx Case (With Riser Cable)
Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 3 GB

Was working fine for me with the above config. All drivers up to date.

I snagged an MSI 6600xt Gaming X and swapped it in. No display.

Went through all the connections and looks okay.

Could the old sapphire drivers be in conflict with the new card?

No problem, thought that might have been. Difference between pcie / vga labels on pcie cable is zip, just the way manufacturer decided to label, to differ between cpu and gpu cable.

Edit, and try keep things simple, no riser, connected to motherboard normally.
You need to test that motherboard with a 3000 series ryzen cpu and see if it works, most early b550 motherboard needs a bios update to use it.

System was working fine with the 3000 series chip while utilizing older GPU.

It wasn't until I swapped in the new GPU that the display would not turn on. I reinstalled the old GPU to test whether I may have knocked something lose on the switch over and it worked fine.

I have since RMA'ed the card but have not had a chance to install the replacement to determine if it was just a bad card something else.

If new cpu was put in long side different gpu at same time, cpu not actually verified functional prior when old gpu was in, i would suspect bios wasn't updated. But if you updated a month ago then i assume it should be 5000 compatible and this issue is something else.

Would like to verify if bios has been updated because no display from an unsupported bios revision is likely.

Maybe I not understanding you guys posts, but let me make sure we are on the same page.

I assembled this new system (all new parts except GPU) a month ago with the B550 and the 5600x and it booted and displayed fine with the Radeon 7950 GPU functioning as a temporary card.

When I swapped out the 7950 for a 6600xt last week, I got no display.

I do not believe BIOS compatibility with the CPU is the issue, as I had no issues prior to the GPU swap.

My personal belief is one of the following issues:
1.) New card was just DOA
2.) Old AMD drivers that supported the 7950 might not work for the 6600xt
3.) Some sort of hardware compatibility issue, like the riser cable maybe doesn't work with the 6600xt,
4.) PSU Cable issue - 7950 ran off of 2 x 6 pin cables. PSU has them labeled as VGA rather than PCIE, which is not something I had seen before (what is the difference there?). 6600xt is a 1 x 8 pin. I have read some 6600xt owners noting issues with no display and swapping out PSU cables solved this.
