New GPU, Stuck On HP Screen

I have an HP Pavilion H8-1234. Just today I bought and installed an EVGA GTX 960 2GB, as well as upgrading the PSU to 520w. After replacing the parts and booting up I come to a HP screen that says "Press the esc key for startup menu". This is where I am stuck being that pressing the esc key is completely ineffective. A beep is audible every so often when on the screen and I'm not sure what to do now.
