I recently bought a 3060ti, for this example i will use fortnite ( i dont play it), I have a ryzen 5 3500x. When playing i get 170fps on low settings (1080p) and 40% gpu usage and dont know why...
I watched a benchmark on youtube and on 1440p the same settings and hardware his performance was almost 100 fps more. Can anyone help me with this???

Whats the performance difference between the 1080/3060ti as i can get the 1080 for £240 cheaper. I dont used ray tracing so would it be worth me getting a 1080 if there is not huge performance loss
You can take a look at this review which shows performance against other gpu’s including the 980Ti. For me the biggest downside is there is no new driver support except for any security issues that may be found and it won’t support modern features that newer games can utilise.

You still won’t get better fps by doing this. This site is not the most reliable but comparing gpu’s from such different generations is rare. A 3060 is between but to the point of not being worth it, just keep the 980Ti https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-3060-vs-Nvidia-GTX-980-Ti/4105vs3439
In a bit of a tough spot, want to upgrade my 980ti as when I play on the highest settings it requires max fan speed which is really loud for not the best fps, but my 3060ti is a bit overkill for my needs and only got my 3060ti only because I got it 140 cheaper than I could instantly sell it for again. Are there any GPUs you recommend in the middle as don't wanna be spending 400 which my 3060ti will sell for (will upgrade RAM either way) ?

It’s a bit of a personal choice but for me if your not getting at least a 40-50% increase in performance it’s not worth it, anything less isn’t really noticeable. Therefore the 3060Ti is over this level but the 3060 is well below.

Yeah i agree which puts me in a bit of an awkward position and don't really know what to do, do you see gpu prices coming down as i could just wait for better cards to come down a bit if i really have to lol.
