The 9500 series uses the 9700 chip. On the 9500Pro, that chip is unmodified from the 9700 series, the card is handicapped instead by a 128-bit memory bus. On the 9500non-pro, four of the pipelines are disabled by changing the chips detection resistors. The driver detects the different resistor position and sets it with only 4 pipelines enabled. Enabling the other four pipelines requires hacking the driver to trick it into using the other 4 pipes.

The TV-Out on all current ATI cards is the same, regardless of whether it's an AIW card or not.

For your $200, I'd definately choose the 9700 non-pro. It has the best tv-out in the gaming card industry.

Ditto that. (or the R9600Pro if you have no other choice [like can't find an R9700non-pro)

Once again, just my 2.0000027 Frames worth.

Your mistake.

9700: 256-bit and 8 pipes
9500Pro: 128-bit and 8 pipes
9500NP: 128-bit and 4 pipes.

If the 9500 Pro had 256-bit memory it would be a 9700.

9500 Pro has all 8 pipelines, it has the 9700 chip with a lower bandwidth memory bus. The 9600 Pro has only 4 pipeline in hardware, it's a completely different chip designed with only 4 pipelines.

Newegg carries This 9500 Non-Pro which according to reviews is the early version with 256-bit memory (because it's a 128MB card based on the 9700 PCB), and can be hacked into a 9700 by enabling the turned-off pipelines. It's only $133, and even if the hack didn't work it's still worth $133.

Yes, that's in American dollars, that's an American site, and the card is listed as in-stock.

Well, you can't find any 9700 or 9500 cards where you live? How much are the 9600 Pro cards?
