New graphics card not working.

Hi, i just bought an Asus Radeon R7 260x graphics card and have a problem with it, i inserted the graphics card into my machine and connected the 6-pin connector just as the manual said and booted up my machine. the graphics card's fans started to turn and the pc seemed to boot up but i'm not getting an image on my screen.. i'm really upset since i just spent alot of money on the card and just want to get the bloody thing working any help would be nice.
