I’ve just upgraded from a 1070 to EVGA RTX 2070. Preciously I had a 2 monitor setup - 1 connected to gpu through hdmi, 1 connected to gpu through VGA. My new 2070 has no vga port & only one hdmi port. I’ve tried plugging my second monitor into the vga & hdmi port on my motherboard, however I can’t seem to get it to work.

Any ideas on how I can connect my 2nd monitor?
Thanks

Which EVGA RTX 2070 model? There are 7 models.
Does your graphics card have DVI port also (EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 BLACK GAMING) ?
If yes, then you could use DVI cable to connect one of your monitors.

If no, then use DP->HDMI adapter.

BTW - you're most likely loosing high refresh rate capability of your 144hz Acer monitor,
when connected with HDMI cable or DP->HDMI adapter.

Thanks for the link, I'll take a look.
Yes I noticed that I now only get 60hz. Is the only solution to get a new monitor that supports 144hz through hdmi?

The BenQ monitor has HDMI 1.4, so you should be able to get to its maximum 75Hz using the HDMI port. For the Acer monitor, using a DP to dual link DVI cable is the only way to get 144Hz since the HDMI version used for its port is too old, and VGA definitely doesn't support it either.
