I had a WD Black 1TB 3.5" data drive that died, so I replaced it with a new WD Black 2TB 3.5" drive. I also run a Samsung 850 Evo SSD for my OS.
Both drives were running off the same PSU connector. Power Supply is a RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-630SS 630W, which is overkill for what I run.
My new drive seems to lose power randomly. I can hear the "chug-ching" noise of the drive losing power and spinning back up.
I moved the drive to its own Power Supply cable, and it seems to do it less but it still happens.
These noises didn't happen with the WD 1TB drive that died.
If it matters, my system runs off a CyberPower CP1000PFCLCD PFC Sinewave UPS 1000VA 600W PFC Compatible. PowerPanel software shows the UPS load is between 120-200 watts.
What's the best way to troubleshoot this?
