New hard drive recognised in bios, but not in disk management

have just installed new 2tb western digital drive into dell cpu quad core on windows 7(64) already have 2 500gb hard drives running fine on the machine, once the hard drive was in it took the computer a couple of times to boot and when it did i could see the drive in bios no worries. but the drive isnt showing up in disk management, it does however show up in computer management under 'other devices' if any one could shed some light on this it would be really helpful

You need to partition and format the drive under computer management.

thanks pjmelect, but how do i do that without going into disk management because it doesn't show up there?

If you have the Windows installation CD you can boot up with that and partition and format the drive from the CD.
