I'm looking to switch to a SSD for my boot drive and keep my old drive for storage, but my old drive is almost 6 years old. So I was wondering if it would be a good idea to purchase a SSD drive for my boot drive (probably around 120GB) and a SSHD or a hybrid drive for storage. What would the cons be to this setup?

Getting a new storage HDD is a good idea considering your one you have is getting old. Run the OS and a few select games/programs off the SSD. Getting an SSHD would make using the files you access a lot almost as fast as a full ssd. It is a good setup.

Thanks for the input, and do you have any recommendations on the SSD and Hybrid I should choose (I'm leaning towards seagate for my Hybrid)

Seagate or Western digital is fine for SSHD. I would personally go with a samsung 850 evo: really good price, mid-high end speeds, and one of the longest life times for SSD's. Their site only has 150 TB of write life, but people have brute tested them to a few Peta-bytes (1000 tB= 1 peta-byte). They should out last their use in the tech world and you will be sick of them before they die.
