[SOLVED] New hardware issues

Im relatively new to the computing world but cant help noticing the many threads and posts by people who have bought all the ''latest and greatest'' cpu's and gpu's having loads of problems. I understand there is always going to be minor bumps in the road while they iron things out to get them all working to their full potential so my question is this. Taking affordability and availability out of the equation, is there an 'optimal' time to buy a new cpu/gpu after release when all issues have been resolved or will it always be pretty much ongoing?

Solution
I usually wait about 6 months before upgrading to the latest and greatest.
My computers run Folding@Home 24/7/365 so complete stability is a must.
I figure, let the early adopters find all of the bugs and faults, then 6 months later everything is sorted out and I can upgrade without problems.
Puts me slightly behind the performance curve , but worth the wait.
