New HDD for a laptop.

I have a MSI GP 62 MVR 6RF LEOPARD PRO LAPTOP can i fit a 15mm HDD inside?


also how many hdds can i put in that laptop?

does it have space for another drive?

as in 2 hdds total inside the laptop

Also id like to know is it possible to make a 15mm HDD fit inside by shaving it a bit with a a grinder or sander?

No 1x 2.5" HDD and 1 M.2 SSD total.

If you "modify" the bottom housing, you can get a 15mm to fit. But by default it will not. I'm assuming you want to use one of those WD 2TB 2.5 HD's?... Both of my gaming laptops have a Samsung 960 Evo 250GB M.2 SSD(Windows install) and 2TB Seagate FireCuda SSHD's installed.

If you "modify" the bottom housing, you can get a 15mm to fit. But by default it will not. I'm assuming you want to use one of those WD 2TB 2.5 HD's?... Both of my gaming laptops have a Samsung 960 Evo 256GB M.2 SSD(Windows install) and 2TB Seagate FireCuda SSHD's installed.

Ive heard rumors of those seagate firecudas just crashing after a few months of use how long have you used yours? iit spins at 5400rpm right?

Ok so does anyone know where i can get a: 7200 RPM SSHD THATS 2TB OR MORE? IF NOT SSHD THEN HDD WILL DO.

I got both of them before summer. I haven't had any problems with either(yet?...). I know the earlier Seagate SSHD's(before the FireCuda's) were problematic. These are also 7mm

Thats a 15mm drive it wont fit.
This is a 2TB (though 5400 RPM) drive that will fit (its actually 7mm but will fit just fine) (The 3-5TB drives are 15mm):

As you can see the price difference between 5400 and 7.2k is huge

Or you could get a SSD like the MX300 2TB (CT2050MX300SSD1)

Hey whats the input and output copy rate on your SSHD, from USB to Laptop and Laptop to laptop?

I haven't tried copying directly from laptop to laptop. If I transfer say 100GB of data from a USB 3.0 flash drive.. it takes around 20min or so. If I do it from a USB 3.1 flash drive, it takes less then 10 minutes.

I meant within the same laptop you have. So is it faster than a 7200 rpm hdd?
